The Provider will be required to have in place: • A waste processing facility with appropriate permitting, planning permissions and health and safety standards; • An electronic weighbridge for the weighing-in of material delivered to their facility to provide the Council with the appropriate management information (including weigh-loader transaction listings); • Robust service contingency plans to ensure continuity of services in the event of non-availability of facility, plant failure, etc. • Provision to accept blended organic waste and food waste (subject to legislation and Waste Collection Authority methods) • Regular reporting methods for tonnage processed, contamination rates, and recycling/recovery outcomes. The overall estimated volume for this contract is circa. 95,000 tonnes per annum. This contract is split into 'operational lots' based on regional requirements: Lot 1 - West Kent (circa. 35,953 tonnes per annum) Lot 2 - Mid Kent (circa. 34,390 tonnes per annum) Lot 3 – East Kent (circa. 23, 811 tonnes per annum) Tenderers can bid for one or all Lots as well as any combination of Lots. The initial contract term will be 5 years, with options for extension of 5 years subject to performance and mutual agreement. The estimated contract value is based on the full potential term (10 years). |

The published award values for all lots are estimates based on projected waste volumes. These values are subject to change and will be adjusted in accordance with the actual tonnage processed throughout the contract term. In addition, the contract includes provisions for annual price adjustments linked to the relevant Consumer Price Index (CPI) in accordance with the pricing mechanism set out in the procurement documents.
Furthermore, the contract incorporates an optional service for the processing of blended garden and food waste. This optional element may be activated at the Authority’s discretion should operational requirements necessitate this service during the contract period.
